Colorado Gives Day…supporting nonprofit organizations throughout Colorado. Supporting Severe Weather Shelter Network.

Severe Weather Shelter Network hosts fundraising events just twice a year. Once in the fall and once in the spring. We want to make sure our primary focus remains on serving our guests and empowering our communities in coming together to create a pathway that leads to a life off the streets.

Any way you look at it, it takes money to make things happen.

Severe Weather Shelter Network has emerged from COVID stronger in some ways. The experience of sheltering in the motels confirmed that is not a model conducive to building relationships with our guests, our volunteers or our partners. Motels are isolating in every sense of the word.

Reimaging shelters hosted in church buildings allowed us to think about sustainability. How could we do better for ourselves, our guests and the greater community? How can we do more with less?

This season SWSN will provide shelter for more than 500 unique individuals. Each of those people will have the opportunity to meet in person with service providers every single shelter night. Each of those people will be fed a hot meal, volunteers who will listen and a safe, warm place to spend the night.

Our 2023 budget is $600,000. That is a lot of money, but let’s break it down by the number of people we estimate we will serve.

For $100 a month, you can provide a full season of shelter for one person. The total cost to provide shelter, meals, assistance and other resources is just $1,200.

Will you support one person this season with a monthly gift of $100?

A one time gift of $500 will cover one guest for 5 months of our shelter season. $50 dollars will cover one night of shelter for one person.

When we come together and stand united in our purpose, we can make a difference! Take a minute to consider what you can do…and then give your best gift through the SWSN Colorado Gives page

Thank you for helping us reach our $75,000 goal!
