The SWSN staff worked really hard over the spring and summer to rethink guest registration. We wanted to make it easier for both the guest and the volunteer. Guests can now register with Severe Weather Shelter Network on the website! A simple form to fill out will add them to our database and give them access to reserve their space on shelter days.
So, what does a Registration Assistant do? This is a great volunteer position that will help our guests complete step two of their registration process. Registration Assistants will have the opportunity to help guests both:
- Access the Get Help page of the website and fill out the online registration form and
- Assist guests to fill out and update their Homeless Management Information System paper form.
The full registration process will be offered during upcoming Registration events at local partner locations. Guests who register online, but haven’t updated their HMIS information will have help during Connection Hours on shelter days for which they have a reservation.
SWSN would like to have a team of 12 volunteers in each region to assist with Registration. Check out the Volunteer page for more information and to get registered as a volunteer for this new season!
