Homeless and working

How do people experiencing homelessness get jobs?

There are different ways that our guests can get jobs; however, there are also many challenges. Many jobs require reliable transportation, a clean appearance, and even a residential address, as well as multiple forms of identification. These can be a big challenge for someone living on the street because identification is often stolen or lost, buses are often not considered reliable transportation, they have no address, and showers can be hard to come by.

Many of our guests will be sign spinners or day labor during the warmer months, but these jobs are not sustainable throughout the year.

We partner with organizations like Movement 5280, Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, and Jefferson County Workforce; all have readiness-to-work programs that help equip our guests for more sustainable full-time jobs.
